ULTIMATE SERENGETI PHOTO SAFARI

TOUR DATE

July 23 - 31, 2026

SAFARI OVERVIEW

This 9-day wildlife photographic safari offers photographers the best photographic opportunities the Serengeti has to offer. This trip takes guests straight into the action, flying them right into Central Serengeti, where predators thrive! During the group's first four nights in the Serengeti, our focus will be on photographing big cats of the flat plains of the region. Central Serengeti is home to an abundance of predators such as lions, cheetah, leopard, and more.

After our time in the central region of the Serengeti, the group will make their way to the Kogatende (northern) region of the park to witness the Great Migration of Wildebeests. During this time of the year, millions of wildebeests have migrated to the area in search of fresh grazing plains. Photograph mega herds of the great migration of wildebeests as they risk their lives as they cross the Mara River and make their way into the Mara Triangle of Kenya.

LOCATION

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK, TANZANIA

Heading to two major wildlife destinations in Serengeti National Park, this tour offers something entirely different in each location.

CENTRAL SERENGETI: Profound for its abundance of resident wildlife. Central Serengeti is the ideal location to photograph predators of the area including Lions, Cheetahs, the illusive Leopard, and of course, the opportunists that follow including Hyenas, Jackals, and more. Along with predators, this area of the Serengeti will provide photographers with photographic opportunities of all of your favourite African wildlife.

NORTHERN SERENGETI: Northern Serengeti or the Mara Region of Serengeti National Park is most active during the months of June to September, when the Great Migration of Wildebeests are on the move for fresh grass. With the wildebeests crossing the Mara River frequently throughout these months, photographers can experience mega herds in their thousands!

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

CAMERA BODY:

  • Guests are encouraged to bring a camera body with a minimum of 24-megapixels to guarantee the best results while on safari. This can be mirrorless or a DSLR, as your photo host is experienced with both and will be able to offer assistance whenever need be.

  • A second camera body is always a great consideration, however, this is not mandatory. This can be used as a backup, or you can keep a second lens attached and switch back and forth between cameras.

LENSES:

  • A telephoto lens with a reach of at least 500 mm. This can be a fixed/prime lens or a zoom lens.

  • If you intend to bring a fixed/prime lens of 500 mm or more, you will also need a closer range lensA 100 - 400 mm or similar is a great option, as this will allow you to get shots of wildlife that comes closer to the vehicle

  • If you are interested in taking landscape photographs during the trip, we recommend a wide angle lens that ranges anywhere between 12 mm - 105 mm. This can be used for landscapes, astro-photography, close range wildlife, and congregations of wildlife.
